It is not usually recommended. Two floating floors can move and bounce. Most installers lift the old floor first.
How long does replacement take?
Removal and installation in an average room is often done in one or two days. Levelling compound needs drying time before the new floor goes down.
Can my existing skirting be reused?
Sometimes, if it comes off cleanly and still covers the expansion gap. Damaged or glued skirting is usually replaced.
