Glued-down floors and carpet on gripper strips take longer than floating laminate, so they sit at the higher end.
Removal Only or With a New Floor
Removal is often quoted as part of a replacement job, which can work out cheaper than paying for it separately. If you only need the floor lifted, say whether the subfloor should be left clean and ready for tiling, vinyl or new laminate.
Very old floor tiles and their adhesive can contain asbestos. Do not grind or break up old tiles until they have been checked, and ask installers how they handle suspect materials.
